First portrait from the Portrait Painting class I'm taking at Gage Academy--this one done in pastels. I'm excited to move into oil paints next week :)

Pattern Project

My family recently started a project where they choose a pattern (see below), and each of us applies it to an artistic creation of our choosing. I incorporated the pattern loosely throughout this image, using more of the shape elements within the pattern rather than the entire pattern itself. It'll be exciting to see what the rest of the family creates!

Gentle Breeze

In the effort to draw and paint more during my lunch hour (and the inspiration of spring :)) this week I painted this image. I was focusing primarily on shape language and experimenting a bit with texture-- hoping to explore these more in the coming weeks. Enjoy!
