My grandmother Maureen Teepe has lived an adventurous and exciting life, and I've been fortunate enough to hear stories about her travels and experiences first hand. Most of my grandma's stories revolve around her immense love of animals, typified by the sheer number of pets she has cared for throughout her life, from monkeys and armadillo to great danes and box turtles (among many, many more). In honor of my grandma's 89th birthday and to thank her for all that she's done and shared with me, I designed this portrait of her and the multitude of pets she's had over the years. Thank you, Dammer, for all the wonderful memories and stories you've recounted. Here's to another fantastic year (and maybe a new pet?)!
